OOC: I am SO sorry for not being on for awhile. I'll try and be good from now on! xD -----------------
Ethan didn't relax much as Carson waved off the purple bruise on her face. He frowned, though he knew that he would do the same if someone he didn't know asked the same question. It was probably something private..but still. It's wrong to hit a lady like that.
He chuckled lightly at the exchange between Matt and "Cari", their friendly moods rubbing off on him. They were a very humble couple; from their interactions, Ethan found it safe to assume that they were dating, or close to it. They were just too comfortable with each other.
Before he could confirm his name to Carson, Matt did it for him, holding out his hand. Smirking, Ethan shook it. "Oh n-not much, simply out for a fl-fly when I met Raelee h-here--" He motioned towards the small girl that was wobbling on her broom next to him, "--She is new to her br-br-br...broom."
OOC: And yes, it's short too x[ I'll redeem myself somehow. Is Raelee ever coming back? I would feel bad to move on without her! :/

ooc: I don't know if she's coming back. What do you think we should do? ---------------------------------------------------------
Cari laughed when Matt stuck his shoulder out toward her so she could 'kiss it better.' Sometimes he could be such a baby! Not wanting to cause a scene, she bent down and pressed a quick kiss onto his exposed shoulder blade. "Happy now?" She asked with a raised eyebrow, her arms folded across her chest.
"Hi Raelee, Ethan! I'm Carson Hale, but everyone calls me Cari." She smiled and gave them a small wave. It just wasn't in her to be normal, she was perky and altogether annoyingly cheerful at times. Or so she had been told.
Leaning in closer to Ethan, Cari put her hand to the side of her mouth. "I'm sorry you have to know him." She used her free hand to gesture to Matt. "He can be a real dweeb. not to mention a brain dead muscle head." Cari said all this loud enough so that Matt could hear her. He would know that she was joking and hopefully Ethan and Raelee would catch on too.
"So, Raelee is new to the broom. well, Matt here is an excellent instructor. He taught me everything I know about brooms and quidditch." Cari smiled and pat her best friend on the shoulder. "With all of us together we'll have you flying like a pro in no time."

Matt couldn't believe it when Cari actually did as he asked and pressed a quick kiss to his shoulder. He fought the urge to smirk and settled for wiping off the smudge of blood that her split lip had left on his tanned skin. "Thank you princess." He recited like a schoolboy who had just been rewarded a prize. She would never know how happy he really was whenever she would touch him or even get near him. In a way she was his saving grace, the one person who brought out his redeeming qualities. For her he stayed on the light side of the war, to protect her from the bad.
Shaking Ethan's hand caused a slight pain in Matt's shoulder but he didn't want to show weakness in front of a housemate. Cari was strong for being such a small girl but he couldn't let the guys know that she had hurt him. That would hurt his pride more than Cari had hurt his shoulder. He watched as Cari introduced herself with that undeniable perkiness that only she could embody. If he didn't know her so well, he would swear she was on drugs or drunk.
His ears perked up when Cari leaned in closer to Ethan, her hand by her mouth in an unsuccessful stage whisper. Deep down, Matt didn't like Cari being so close to another guy but Ethan was cool, so Matt suppressed the urge to get possessive. "Carson Elizabeth Hale! I can not believe that you just said that. That's it! I'm not talking to you anymore!" Matt crossed his arms over his chest and partially turned away from them. He knew that she was kidding, they played around like this all the time and nothing bad ever came from it. They were just comfortable enough with each other to point out the stereotypes and make fun of each other's flaws. In a way, her comment on his muscles was a compliment. He was rather muscle-y.
Matt's fake anger faded when he heard Cari singing his praises. "I did teach her everything she knows." He said with a sense of pride. It wasn't everyone who could say they had trained one of the best beaters Ravenclaw had ever seen. Matt had no doubt that should she want to, Cari could play professionally. "She's right. We'll have you soaring like it's second nature in no time." Matt placed his hand on Cari's shoulder and smiled at Raelee. "Look at Cari! She just learned about three years ago and already she is more at home in the air than on the ground." He laughed and prepared to duck any blow Cari might send at him for that remark.

OOC: Hmm...I don't know. If she doesn't come back then I guess we'll have to assume she became too intimidated by the seniority and went to bed? xD --------------
Ethan still smiled pleasantly at the exchange between Cari and Matt. He leaned in with feigned interest when Cari did, and chuckled lightly at the information she fed to him. He wanted to tell them to get a room, but that might have come out as offensive. That wouldn't be how he would have meant it.
He did feel awkward around the two of him, like he was standing on the outside of an inside joke the whole time. Ethan could not deny that to even himself. He wasn't sure how to treat either of the couple; he still assumed that they were lovers, and he was not prepared to be too nice to Carson out of fear of pissing Matt off, and was weary to get too close to Matt out of fear of actually getting too close to Carson, thus pissing Matt off. It was a complicated thought process.
Instead, he smiled down at Raelee as the couple shone their light on her. "Besides," he said to add onto Matt's comment, "We need a little more of a challenge out of Gryffindor. You'll help us out, r-right?"
