Matt first met Carson when he was going out for a late night fly around the Quidditch pitch. She had been crying and looked so helpless all by herself. He gave her a shoulder to cry on and eventually began to help her become the beater she is today. Her endless dedication to bettering her skills made him respect her. Over the years they have formed a support system for going to parties and any activities that may lead to requiring assistance back to the dorms. They're best friends but Matt will admit that Carson has gotten more attractive over the years. In their friendship they flirt, it's just how they interact. On the pitch they are friendly rivals but when they aren't in competition they can usually be found getting into trouble. Normally matt would never do anything to get in trouble but Carson has that kind of bad influence on him. She makes him want to get into trouble and have fun while doing so. Matt is very protective of Carson and somewhat possessive when it comes to other guys flirting with her.

She can get a little annoying at times, but believe it or not, shes also my emotional support. Shes pretty smart for her age, shes someone I can definately talk to.
