Bryana hated the rain and she hated the cold. When she'd woke up this morning, the rain was pouring down on the window pane. She'd woken up late, because the usually sun shine flowing through the windows didn't wake her up that day, causing her eyes to open. So, she already knew it was going to be a bad day, her being tardy to breakfast and everything.
Going into breakfast was a drag. The floors were wet with rain water, from people taking shortcuts though the main entrance, rather than simply taking the grand staircase. Bryana thought it would've made things so much easier, and dryer, if people weren't so lazy to just go down the stairs. It's not like, they had to climb up 500 stairs. All they had to do was go down.
It just didn't make sense to her. So now, the castle smelled of wet dog, and it wasn't a surprise, seeing as though a lot of people at Hogwarts had just recently taken their first showers, getting caught out in the rain.
Her first classes, were inside, thankfully. But later in the day, she realized that her last class was Herbology. In class, she groaned, having to sit in class wet like all the other students. She could've used the hot air charm, but at that point she was soaked and didn't have enough time. It was dreadful, and beside that, she was cold.
The last class of the day went by slowly, and Bryana quickly made her way back to the common room. She always enjoyed trying to figure out the riddles that she was given for the entrance to her common room, but not today. She was in a hurry to get dry. Solving the riddle quickly. without feeling any sort of ennjoyment, She slammed the door shut, and collapsed in an armchair next to the fire, not exactly caring who was there.
After a few moments, of brief resting, she pulled out her wand to begin blowing hot air, onto her skirt, and her skirt. Her robe and socks would have to wait later. As would her hair, which at the moment was wet as well.
She kicked off her shoes, so that she could dry her socks. She hated walking around with wet socks. It made her toes feel icky. No, wet socks were definetly something that she did not like.

Rain is a type of precipitation, a product of the condensation of atmospheric water vapor that is deposited on the Earth's surface. It forms when separate drops of water fall to the Earth from clouds. Not all rain reaches the surface; some evaporates while falling through dry air. That was the definition of rain in probably its simplest of forms. As scientific and truthful as it sounded, Jason found it quite hard to believe that some rain evaporated before it hit the ground, especially on such an occasion as today. It rained non-stop with what appeared to be no end in sight. Classes today were dull as usual, but the thought of rain made staying awake that much more difficult. Rainy weather had a calming effect on people. Was there a magical explanation or a scientific explanation for why it affects people the way it does? He did not think so, nor did he care, he was just annoyed at the whole wetness of the matter.
Honestly, he was hoping to go out for a nice stroll around the pond, or maybe even fly way up high on his broom. But he wasn’t about to walk out in the middle of a storm. Matter of fact, he skipped any and all classes that would normally cause him to go outside. He would pick up the material he missed in class anyways on his own. If it were up to him, he would never go to class, he would just read the book. The friends he made in class was the only think keeping him from skipping all the time, oh, and the possibility of being kicked out of school. He didn’t want to look like a genius in front of everyone, but he also didn’t want to appear like some idiot.
We was walking back to the common room when he noticed wet footprints on the ground. Someone had just recently arrived from outside. ”I wonder what poor soul got stuck in the rain.” He quickly and easily solved the riddle, it was easier and less enjoyable then usual. It would appear that the rain even soured a good riddle. As he entered, he did not spot anyone immediately, but out of his peripheral he caught a glimpse at someone sitting by the fire place. He smiled as he recognized who it was. “Hey Bryana, long day?” He said while walking for to the nearest chair to her. He threw his books down by the floor of his seat.

Bryana heard the common room door creak open, but didn't bother to look up, focused on getting as warm as possible. Still drying her socks, she heard a familiar voice.
“Hey Bryana, long day?”
"Can you tell?" she frowned over at her wet clothes. "Well, that doesn't really explain the half of it. But I won't give you an elongated speech about how awful my day was." she laughed. Honestly, that speech would go on forever, without much detail.
She jumped a little, when he dropped the books on the floor. She didn't mind it, but she still didn't favor loud noises that much. But, it wasn't something she'd get bent out of shape over. "Take pity on me, for I was caught in that dreadful stuff." she smirked.
"What about about you, Jay? What your take on today's weather?" she asked him. He wasn't drenched, like she was, so she thought maybe he didn't mind it so much. She finished drying her socks, and leaned back in the armchair, so that she could slip them back on.

Ever since she had awoken to the sound of rain tapping at the glass of her dorm window, Cari had been in a glorious mood! There was no weather that she loved more than the rain. Well, unless you counted hot summer days complete with lemonade on a nice sandy beach on some deserted tropical island with shirtless male waiters... But today looked to be rainy and Carson couldn't be happier. She knew she wouldn't stay inside all day, it was raining! She had to go playing it at least once. Maybe corrupt some innocent Hufflepuffs into ditching class and playing a game of tackle football in the rain. And corrupt she had. Her last two classes of the day had been History of Magic and Divination, two classes she usually dozed off in. And while she hated missing out on her afternoon nap, the muddy lawns of Hogwarts called.
The game had gone on rather well. Five players other than herself showed up making the teams an even three on three. The game had progressed from there. At first, they were wary of getting dirty but after a few touchdowns and tackles they were all covered in mud anyway. Head to toe. The only reason the game had stopped was because of some close striking lightning that had scared them all. The pouring rain on the run back to the castle had cleaned the students of mud leaving them dripping with water alone. Having disbanded in the halls with the promise of another game the next time it rained, Cari now walked alone to Ravenclaw tower.
Her soggy shoes and socks made an annoying squeaky sound as she trekked her way to the dorms. And even though that annoying staircase between the fifth and sixth floors decided to move thus making her have to re-navigate an entire floor, her happy mood could not be swayed. Slish slosh! She walked down the halls humming a happy jingle. Today had been great!
But that was when she saw the bane of her existence. The only thing that could bring her down from the rain induced high she had been on. The bronze eagle knocker that signified the entrance to Ravenclaw Tower. It rattled off an excruciatingly difficult riddle that made Cari's head spin. "The letter E." She mundanely recited the answer she had been giving the knocker for the past five years. Riddles never had been her strong point. Her mouth recited every answer she could think of but the entrance remained closed.
"You hate me don't you? You and that stupid staircase between the fifth and sixth floors. You two've been plotting against me since day one haven't you?" She narrowed her eyes to glare at the bronze sculpture. Her mind whirred with different things she could do to destroy the knocker. Not that she ever would, but maybe it wouldn't hurt to let the eagle know how infuriated she was at this point.
"You know, one day that staircase will rot. And on that day, I will be waiting with a can of gasoline and a box of matches. I will laugh as it burns to the ground. And you! I plan on melting you down into scraps. The once prestigious entrance to Ravenclaw! I will sell you to a vendor who will make you into a cauldron! And I-" She stopped in her evil plot when the door clicked open. "What? Did I accidentally answer the question right?" She asked the eagle with a hopeful grin.
Her face fell when she saw the emerging student giving her an odd look. "Oh shut up." She huffed storming into the common room. It was starting to get a little cold what with her soaking wet clothes. This was the only downside to playing in the rain, the cold that usually happened if she didn't get heated up right away. Her gaze swept to the fire where two students were sitting. Upon closer inspection, she knew these two! They were Bryana and Jason, students just a year older than herself. with a big grin, she bounded over to the chairs by the fire, bypassing them to sit directly on the carpet. She leaned her back against the nearest chair and kicked off her shoes. Cari moved forward so with her hands she could arrange the sneakers close to the fire so they could dry but not close enough that they would burn.
Leaning back against the chair, she stretched out her socked toes and looked up to Bryana and Jason. "Hey! Have you two been enjoying the rain as well?" She asked taking in Bryana's soaked state of dress and Jason who seemed to be dry.

Jason quickly reacted to Cari's sudden appearance. "Hey Cari, how’s it going?" She seemed to be the polar opposite of Bryanna as she seemed completely over enthusiastic about being drenched. He himself was somewhat neutral about it all; even after his long winded explanation about the definition of rain and the problems it had caused him today. You see, even rain had its ups and downs. "Well, I was just about to say how much rain could be a bad thing and a good thing, depending on the situation. Though it’s true, I would have enjoyed a dry day, a rainy day is equally as good."
This much was true. A dry day would mean many outside activities. A dip in the lake, sleeping under the shade of some big tree, or maybe even some sports; depending of course if you were they type paranoid of your own sweat. But the heat could bring dehydration, heat exhaustion, and maybe some bad sun burn. With rain it was true, many outdoor activities could not be enjoyed the same. A dip in the lake could result in electrocution, sleeping under the tree could....well, also result in electrocution, and running around in the rain...well that was probably the upside of the whole situation. Sports were fun in the rain...minus Quidditch. But this wasn’t exactly on his mind at the moment.
Jason stood up from his chair with a big smile on his face. It was as if he had just received an epiphany, a sudden ingenious idea. He shook his pointing finger in the air repeatedly while pacing back and forth. "When it rain, the way it does, what do people normally do?" And before anyone could answer, he jumped in. "They normally come inside to stay dry. So now that were all here, in the same place, it’s our duty to do something about it." His smile grew more devious as he was sure the two were guessing what he was planning. That was, if they knew him well enough. "We should throw a party, we have been saving one for a rainy day anyways. And! What can help people warm up from this cold, rainy weather. Besides fire and hot coco." He had Firewhisky on his mind.
He had a reputation to maintain of course. Throwing a party would be the only logical thing. At least in his mind. He would do anything he could to procrastinate his studies. ”What do you say? Are you two up for it?” He needed them to agree of course. What type of party would it be without his friends?

Bryana, busy with her combing her fingers through her wet hair, hardly noticed Carson enter the room. "Hey Carsie!" she smiled warmly at her. She saw how she'd put her sneakers by the fire, most likely to dry them off. "Yeah, me too." she muttered, but not loud enough that anyone could hear.
She listened quietly as Jason talked and then chimed in. "I don't mind rainy days, if I don't have to achknowledge the fact that everything is wet." she told the both of them truthfully. She tucked her legs under her in the chair, and summoned an acip pop out of her bag. At least that hadn't gotten all wet. she thought, thankfully. If there was something else she hated more than being wet, was being sticky. Some would say, as a girl, they'd expect it of her. But, she wasn't a girly girl. Being Dirty, she had no problem with. Bryana would simply take a shower to solve that problem, but sticky was just irritating.
"When it rain, the way it does, what do people normally do? They normally come inside to stay dry. So now that were all here, in the same place, it’s our duty to do something about it."
"What are you getting at?" Bryana quriked an eyebrow at his suddenly excited behavior. "Are you saying we should wait here to dry people off when they come inside? Rubbish! I'd rather someone would've dried ME off when I walked through the door!" she started, but then she started really thinking. Jason, I love how you always know how to cheer me up! she thought, even though she meant to say it out loud, but he started explaining his idea.
"What can help people warm up from this cold, rainy weather. Besides fire and hot coco."
"Firewhisky!" Bryana got even more excited, but then realized she was being too loud when she started getting shushes from the other side of the room. "Well, it's not the library." she folded her arms, and then turned to Jason. "Count me in!"

Carson just sat back and watched as two of her best friends interacted with each other. Jason's pacing with his finger pointed had nearly set her off into a fit of giggles, sometimes he could be just as weird as she was. He looked to be having an epiphany when Bryana had put in her say.
"Are you saying we should wait here to dry people off when they come inside? Rubbish! I'd rather someone would've dried ME off when I walked through the door!"
"You know, Bryana, I bet we could convince some first years that it is their duty to dry off students when they come in." Carson smirked, sometimes it could be fun tricking the first years. Just in time, Cari tuned back into the conversation to hear Jason's plan.
"A party? Sounds fun. There will be 'special' coco too, right?" She asked hoping they understood that special coco was code for anything with alcohol. Cari heaved a sigh of relief when Bryana mentioned firewhiskey. "Thank Merlin! I don't think I could handle another dry party." She confessed. The last party she had attended had been alcohol free and BORING! Her eyes started scanning the common room looking for ways to make it more fun. Maybe they could make a big dance floor and charm a wizard radio to play some groovy tunes.
"So, how should we go about this? Just start having fun and whoever joins joins? OH!!! We can get out Twister!" She clapped her hands together and bounced in her seat. Yes, she had an unnatural love for the muggle game, but it was fun! Well, fun for those who were flexible. "And what about the 'beverages?' Should one of us sneak into Hogsmeade or do any of us have a secret stash we're willing to break into?" She eyed them, thinking of the bottles she had hidden in a suit of armor on the third floor corridor and the many other places she had candy and drinks stashed around the castle.

Jason continued to pace back and fourth as he listened to everything they had to say. "Precisely! Fire whiskey or 'special' coco if we want to call it that." He was glad they agreed with him on both the party and fire whiskey. Now he had to just prepare the party, they would quickly all run off to perform "certain" tasks before any official party could be thrown. He would go get his stash of fire whiskey. He had several bottles hidden in the trunk next to his bed. They would probably need some food, and someone would have to keep the prefects busy while they gathered the party goers.
“Theirs a couple things we need to get done, ill go get the fire whiskey, I’ve got several bottles in my room. You two figure out the food and prefect situation. I can start telling people, you know how word spreads around here.” His mind quickly jumped to the thought of a bunch of girls playing twister. He smiled without even noticing it. Call him weird, but he couldn’t pass up an opportunity like this. ”And yea, get that twister ready. Now lets get to work, the sooner we do this, the sooner we can party!”
He quickly ran off to his room. He was moving so fast that he slid on the floor as he tried stopping by his bed. He pulled the trunk open and dug through, pushing things aside until he got to the bottom. He had five bottles, three would be enough for the occasion. They were wrapped in a protective sheet. He pulled out three bottles and re-wrapped the other two. Closing the trunk, he quickly ran out of the room with bottles in hand. He tried his best to conceal it, not wanted the crowd of people beginning to gather in the common rooms to know just yet what was going on. He hid the bottles between two cushions in a near by couch.
As he looked around the room, he saw that Bryana and Cari had both ran off already to collect the things they needed. He took this opportunity to begin inviting people. He walked person to person, telling them of the plans. Most of the people were overly excited about it, the others were just happy their day would not be ruined due to the rain. Even some of the people that he invited began to run off for their secret stash of party favors. It was only a matter of time until it all began.

"Yeah, I bet we could." Bryana laughed, glancing over her shoulder at some first years, rambling away about something uninteresting. Well, it might've been interesting in Bryana's first year, but definitely not now. She wondered if first years would decide to come, and then ruin themselves with alcohol. No, I don't think they should. she thought, knowing they were too innocent at the time. "We have to keep the young kids out, too." just to make sure that they don't get into any trouble." she said, in a caring tone.
She stood up and stretched, as Jason ran upstairs to get out his "stash". "I'll go handle the littuns." she smiled, at Carson, and then skipped over to where they were doing homework. "Did you know that study hall started early today? It started at 4:15. I think you're a bit late at the moment. And it's been moved to the Lakeside, so you'd better hurry if you want to get there quickly." she said. She watched as they scrambled around gathering their books, and hurrying out the door. "They're so cute when they're worried about everything." she said.
"And now, for my stereo." she said to herself. She skipped up the stairs into her dorm room, and grabbed her stereo and brought it back downstairs. 'Let's see.." she pulled out her wand. She turned it on, and some awesome party music blared out of the little speakers. "Engorgio." she pointed her wand at the thing, and it got bigger. She grinned proudly at her work.
"How many did you bring?" she asked Jason when he came back downstairs, seeing him slip the coco behind the couch.

Cari watched as Bryana and Jason went to get their respective items. "Well I guess that leaves me to get the food and Twister." She stated to herself. Standing up, she decided to leave her shoes off and in a split second decision took her socks off as well. It just wouldn't do to get her royal blue socks dirty by walking around in them without shoes.
Barefoot, Cari left Ravenclaw Tower to go on her quest. The jog down to the kitchens didn't take long, and the house elves were more than accommodating. "So the food should be there when I get back? Thanks guys!" She smiled after placing the order for the party. On the way back, she made several stops at suits of armor and hidden nooks. "Can't have a party without candy!" Her hands pet the burlap sack stuffed with candy that was slung over her shoulder. She had one last item to get before she could consider her task complete.
Blue eyes looked around to make sure she wasn't being followed. It wouldn't do to be caught by a professor. Yes she had a sweet tooth but even so carrying around a burlap sack full of candy was suspicious. Lucky for her, a herd of first years were scrambling out of the tower when she returned. "I still hate you." She glared at the bronze knocker before entering.
In the Common room she saw Bryana and Jason already had completed their tasks. If her calculations were correct, the house elves should have the food in the common room any minute. "Now we can party!" Cari said as she pulled the Twister box out from under the sofa.

"Party? Did you say party?" A voice stated from the stairway to the Girl Dorms. A blond with dirty hair tied up in a ponytail walked down the stairway. Her green eyes twinkled in the light when she heard the world Party. She had a smile on her face as she pulled something from behind her back. It was none other then Amaranth Landon, a Ravenclaw 7th year.
It was half a dozen bottles of Butterbeer. "Do you people want some Butterbeer? You can never have a party without that stuff-along with sweets!" She then saw Carson's burlap sack of sweets. This caused a wide grin to form on her face.
"Oh~ Sweets! Do you have any chocolates-more specifically: Chocolate Frogs?" Amaranth stated with a smile as she tilted her head to the side. She seemed to really want to know this question. "Because Chocolate Frogs are my favorite sweet!"

Jason was sure no one had seen him with the fire whiskey, but he guessed wrong. No matter, the one who caught him with the bottles was helping him start this party up anyways. ”Three should be enough if everyone just wants to have a good time. Any more and I am sure people will be waking up confused and wondering why they are on the floor.” It was true, Jason liked drinking, but he hated getting smashed, and he hated loosing control. He drank just enough to have a good time.
Jason took a quick glance at the stereo. It was large and already blasting music. ”I hope they can’t hear it form the outside, I might actually have to cast a spell on the walls. Were did you send all the first years? Study hall I suppose.” He smiled as he walked towards the seating area. The chairs needed to be moved to make room for a dance floor. He began moving chairs, two at a time towards the walls. The couches were a bit more difficult to move, but soon enough he had exactly what he wanted. It was around this time when Cari came rushing through the door.
”Just about time to party, I assume the food will be getting here soon.” He looked around the rooms. Fellow Ravenclaw’s were beginning to poor out of their rooms. Many of them had huge smiles on their faces. Several of them came up to were they stood, thanking them for throwing a party. He heard a question from behind him, the voice sounded familiar, but he couldn’t quite tell who it was. When he caught site of the person face a name came to mind. ’Amaranth…what was her last name?’ He couldn’t quite remember. ”Yup, party’s started, and butterbeer sounds awesome. Let me put those in the cooler for you.” He smiled as he relieved her of the bottles. The cooler was one thing he forgot to get. That could be easily arranged though.
He found a bucket by the fire place. He enlarged it with ‘Engorgio.’ Now he just needed some ice. Lucky for them all, the house elves showed up. They began to place food on a near by table. He quickly walked towards one house elf. ”Excuse me, noble house elf, if you can, please bring me enough ice to fill this bucket.” The elf quickly nodded and disappeared with the bucket.
He returned to were the three girls stood. ”So what do you girls think, do we got everything?”

"It's not like it hasn't happened before.." Bryana muttered. She'd never gotten drunk. Sure, she drank, but only to the point where she was satisfied. She couldn't speak for a lot of the people in Hogwarts, however.
"Honestly, Jase. These are brick walls. But, if you feel like you want to." she smirked, grabbing an acid pop out of Carson's bag. "Thank you!" she smiled nicely at her. There was only one more thing that needed to happen. She didn't have a deluminator, so she decided to just put out some of the lights. Bryana found that a lot more danced when the lights were lower, only because they get embarrassed.. amateurs.
The house elves brought in a large bucket of ice, and poured it into the larger bucket. Bryana helped to put some drinks in there, except one butterbeer she kept for herself. She almost abandoned her friends when the starting moving to the sound Expecto, a wizard rock band. "Come on, Cari. Let's Dance!" She pulled Carson by her wrist. "Wait, we forgot the twister.."

Cari watched the going ons with a wide smile. It was always fun when the Ravenclaws would break away from their studies and have a house party. Already she was eying a bottle of butterbeer. After all the parties she had gone to, Cari found it to be best if she started out with a butterbeer or two before she moved on to the firewhiskey. But then again, the firewhiskey was looking pretty good.
So deep in her internal debate over which drink to consume first, Cari was oblivious to what was going on around her. "You're welcome." She responded out of habit when Bryana took an acid pop from the bag of sweets. Firewhiskey or butterbeer? Butterbeer was good for anything while firewhiskey always warmed her up and took a quite a bit to take effect. Perhaps going to all those parties had paid off.
Cari was just about to reach for some firewhiskey when Bryana pulled her up off of the sofa and onto the makeshift dance floor. "I'm way ahead of you Bryana! Twister's on the sofa!" Cari yelled over the music. There was nothing better than dancing with friends to good music. Well, except dancing with a hot guy to good music but Cari didn't want to get a bad reputation. Better stick to dancing with my friends. She thought to herself.
"Come on Jason! dance with us!" Cari waved her hand for him to join her and Bryana on the dance floor.

"Ill be right there you too, I’ve got something to do before the festivities begin." He was waiting for the house elf to return with the ice. He quickly took two of the three bottles and placed them on a near by table. Everyone seemed to look upon the bottles with unison as he was walking away. The two bottles would be for everyone at the party to share, the last bottle would be for just specific friends of his like Cari and Bryana. "Everyone! Feel free to drink up, but I recommend waiting until the ice gets here! Any minute now, promise!"
On that note, the house elf returned, knees buckling under the weight of the bucket. He quickly ran over to help ease the bucket to the floor. "Thank you so much!" He placed all the butter beer inside and returned to the table to collect the two bottles. He conveniently placed the bottles inside, as deep down as they could go. This way they would cool down faster. But he had a dilemma, what was he going to do with his bottle? He looked over to the couch, eyeing the pillow that hid his bottle. He seemed to have no choice but to sneak it over to the bucket, and hide it even further down then the other two bottles. When the two bottles ran out, he would tell everyone that the drinks were all gone so that they would not search further down.
After quickly dealing with the problem, Jason joined the two on the dance floor. ”Our special coco is hiding at the bottom of that bucket. It’s only for us, so we can really enjoy it. When’s twister going down?” He began dancing next to them, enjoying the fact that he was dancing with two of his friends. Occasional glances form the peanut gallery let him know that they were the talk of the party. He wasn’t exactly sure how much the two enjoyed the lime light, but Jason definitely enjoyed it. He was sure to hear complaints from the rest of the houses for now inviting them. Then he would promise them a party, and through that, he could very well throw the biggest party Hogwarts has ever seen. Everything was going well, almost too good.
