Sirius laughed at Jame's comment. He was really hungry, that was shown. I was hungry. And no. I'll just eat some more up in the Great Hall. Sirius then laughed at James' comment. How true. He said, laughing.
Sirius waited for James to let him know that the coast was clear. Then they both left the kitchen. Yeah, I'll have to agree. I don't want to be caught, though it would just add to the adrenaline. Sirius laughed at James taking the apple. Thought you were good? He asked.
Once they got into the Great Hall, they made their way over to the Gryffindor table. The tables weren't packed yet, but there wre a bunch of people at them already.

James shrugged and continued chewing his apple as they traveled to the hall. He was surprised, a good amount of people were up and ready to eat. Awesome, James loved when his pranks had a big audience. He found a seat at the Gryffindor table and craned his neck to see who was at the Slytherin table. Most of them were sitting with their backs to the Gryffindors. Oh well, that just made for an excellent view of their hair. He waited, tapping his foot impatiently. "When's the ruddy food going to show up?" he asked Sirius. Now that their moment of glory was here at last he was getting impatient.
He needn't have been however. Almost as soon as the words left his mouth, the food started appearing along the table. Pancakes and eggs, puddings, drinks, all you could want. James swapped his apple core for a slice of toast hastily but didn't bite into it. Instead he kept his eyes trained on the Slytherin table and nudged Sirius, waiting.

Sirius sat next to James at the table. From where they were sitting they had a perfect view of the Slytherins. Or rather the back of their heads, which was what they needed to see. Sirius looked around for one main person: a greasy, black-haired loser, as James asked when the food was going to show up. And, of course, it wouldn't be hard to find him. A couple people had their hair changing colours. But it had taken so long for it to happen - or maybe because they had been waiting kind of impatiently, that Sirius was looking at the other end of the table at that moment.
Sirius grabbed a couple pancakes and loaded them on his plate, keeping his eyes on Snivellus.

((I don't think we're supposed to say what other people's characters are doing, so I'm gonna act like it's just random slytherins and not necc Snape lol))
James' toast was becoming slippery in his hand. He'd been buttering it for a good half minute, his eyes trained on the Slytherins. It slipped out of his hand but he barely registered it. "There," he whispered to Sirius, just under his breath, "Third from the left." The Slytherins had been eating since the food appeared, and James hadn't noticed anything until now. Suddenly, all along the table, you could see it, purple and pink were spiraling out from the hairs roots downward. One of them suddenly must have looked at their friend, because they stood up and shouted. Eyes turned towards the table. James stuffed his fist in his mouth to supress a revealing laugh. Odd, he thought, buttery.

Sirius had been cutting a piece of his pancake, figuring James would let him know if anything happened in the moment he looked away. He looked up and to the left when James told him to. He saw some Slythiner, not sure who it was, with now pink and purple hair. As Sirius looked down the table, more Slytherins had their hair changing. He heard someone shout, and immediately looked towards the sound. What looked like a first year, was standing up, pointing at his friends hair. But, obviously they hadn't registered that their own hair was coloured too.
Sirius took a quick glance at James, whose fist was in his mouth., stopping him from laughing. Sirius didn't have time. He was already laughing. But he wasn't the only one. It seemed like everyone at the Gryffindor table was laughing or trying not to. [[yeah, I was just really distracted over here. anyway, i've fixed it.]]

The first Slytherin to notice their predicament was now panicing, as his friend had simply pointed at his hair, open mouthed. All around the table people were patting their heads or, if their hair was long enough staring at it in open mouthed horror. One actually began pulling his out. James' fist came out of his mouth as a storm of laughter erupted around the great hall. He couldn't keep it in anymore. It wasn't just the Gryffindor table laughing either, once the other houses had been assured by their friends that their hair was still normal they joined in, openly revelling in the mischief caused by James and Sirius.
A couple Slytherins actually ran out of the hall immediately, heading to the infirmary James was sure. Those students still heading into the Great Hall nearly doubled over laughing as they jumped to the side to get out of the Slytherins way. One Slytherin boy sat at the table, quite bemused, he apparently hadn't had any food to eat by the time his classmates began changing, and James couldn't help but laugh at his expression. By this point James had fallen off his seat laughing and was merely sitting on the floor, his arm gesturing randomly at various mishaps the mayhem was causing.

Sirius couldn't stop himself from laughing, especially when he was laughing even more now that the first Slytherin to notice was now in a state of complete panic, now that his friend had pointed to his hair. Sirius could hear James roaring beside him, obviously no longer having his fist in his mouth.
Sirius watched as a couple of the Slytherins ran for it - most likely to the hospital wing to have their hair turned back to normal. Either that or they were running off to the washrooms to chekck their hair for themselves, but with the look of instensified panic in their faces, it was most like the hospital wing. A few other students, doubling over with laughter had just come in and had to get out of the Slytherins' way, or they would have probably been knocked over.
Sirius looked over the table again, and his eyes rested upon one Slytherin boy who wassitting there, bemused by the looks of him, obviously watching everyone else, his on hair not changin. Obviously, he had not gotten the chance to eat anything yet. And with the look of him and then James falling off the bench and onto the floor, Sirius roared with laughter even more. Even to the extent that he was now leaning over, his hands over his face, his face inches from the bench where James had been seated a moment ago.

Slowly but surely, James pulled himself back into his seat. He passed Padfoot's head on the way up, Sirius apparently bent over from laughter. Well, James thought, I'm not one to talk. He snuck a glance out of the corner of his eye at the teacher's table and saw more than a few professors eyeing he and Sirius. Let them prove it, James' brain said smugly. Less people were staring at the Slytherin table now, as everyone afflicted had made their way out, and more and more eyes were turning towards James. Wiping the tears from his eyes, he reached across the table for a goblet of juice and gulped it down, trying to appear nonchalant and like any other student enjoying a good laugh at the Slytherin's expense. He looked up and down his own table and saw some students mouth 'nice one.' One seventh year even gave him a thumbs up. Damn, James thought, taking another drink, we are so awesome.

Sirius sat back up once James pulled himself off the floor. Wow, this had quite the results and reaction he'd been happy with.
Slowly, people let their eyes leave the Slytherin table. However, more and more of those eyes began to turn towards James and him. Including a few teachers, Sirius noticed. But there was no proof they had actually done it. Actually, there was, the house elves. But Sirius doubted they would have to go through all that to figure out they'd done it. Anyone who knew these two, knew they'd do it. This also meant the several Gryffindors who mouthed nice on, and the seventh year that gave the thumbs up. Yeah, all the other Gryffindors were also proud of their doings.
Sirius returned to his food, trying to calm himself down.

James drowned what was left of his drink and started in on his pancakes, no longer paying any attention to the Slytherin table. Most of the commotion had died down. Around the great hall students were laughing with their friends about the pranks and sending glances his way every so often. Ever the oblivious actor James spoke to Sirius without looking away from his food, "That was certainly interesting," he said, "Who would have ever thought to do something like that?" He took another bite and spoke around the food, "Those poor Slytherins."

Sirius was quite more cal now, eating his ood. This was because he was focused on it, and not on his surroundings. James had now started on his food, and then he spoke to him again. Oh, yes, that was interesting. Sirius said. Sirius chuckled a bit at what James said next. Oh yeah, who would have thought of that? I really have no idea, Sirius said, And they're not poor unless you're talking personality wise. They deserved every last bit of that. Sirius said, truthfully, and bluntly.
[[that's fine, i haven't been able to get on much lately either.]]

James raised his eyebrows at his best friend. Had Sirius really thought he felt bad for the Slytherings? "I know Padfoot," he drawled, "That was sarcasm." Rolling his eyes at Sirius' bluntness he took a chance to scan up and down the Gryffindor table. While Sirius and his actions had certainly gave a lot of students amusement, he couldn't find the face he wanted to. He'd been hoping to find one Lily Evans glowing back at him, impressed beyond words. While that was highly unlikely, there wasn't a scowling Lily Evans to be found either.
James sighed and turned his eyes back to his food, wondering if any more Slytherins would come into the Great Hall unawares. While he was doing that he noticed a couple teachers were absent from the high table. He pointed it out to Sirius. "Think they've gone to replace the food?" he asked. He hoped they wouldn't, the students could still have some fun at any late waking Slytherins' expense. It wasn't that James hated the Slytherins. Well, not all of them, anyway. More he just didn't feel bad doing things to them, he knew they would probably do worse given the chance.

Sirius chuckled at James's reaction to what Sirius had said. I know that sarcasm James, Srius said to him, rolling his eyes the slightest. He then looked down at his pancakes, which he had grown bored of. IThink I need some mroe interesting food, and before you say it, no I do not mean interestng as in change-my-hair interesting. Sirius had said. Then James pointed out that a few teachers were missing. I hope not, the late Slytherins wil love it. Sirius said, though what he meant was that they'd hate it, Sirius and James and the other Gryffindors would love it. [/blockquote]

James had just opened his mouth to respond, when Sirius clarified what he had meant by interesting. 'Damn' thought James. He continued to pick at his food, though he wasn't really hungry. He was here to be entertained by his own antics, not to eat. He could do that anytime. Though, to be honest, he could entertain himself almost anytime too.
"They and everyone else," he replied. "Come on," he muttered, speaking to imaginary Slytherins. "Your house is all about being individualistic and greedy, surely you can't all have told the other students what awaits them."
