Cassandra was rushing again. It was rare for her to be on time to anything and by now most of her teachers were used to it. Still, she had been told by several that if her lateness continued she might as well just skip the entire class. That was the polite way of saying it. Truthfully they had told her to either be on time or not show up at all. Now since she had spent the extra ten minutes on her hair, she was dangerously close to being late.
Clutching her bag, she sprinted up the staircase, bumping into a few small first years on her way. "Move," she growled as she sped past them. As she neared the top of the tall staircase and was about to be able to get to her classroom, it began to move. "No..." she groaned, sinking into a sitting position on the second to last stair as it shifted through the air.

Raelee wasn't sure what was going on, it was her first day and she was already completely lost. Hearing somebody say that the transfiguration classroom was on the third floor though, she started to try and find the staircases. After half an our of searching the whole bloody castle, she finally saw it.
She began running up the stairs, her bag bouncing against the back of her leg. However, she was soon pushed aside by a slytherin, and then a ravenclaw, both who were older than her. She shoved them right back, hoping that they would fall, and sped up the stairs.
When she was almost there, the stairs began moving, and Raelee became quite anxious. Were the stairs suppose to move, or was this a hallucination? Trying her luck, she tried to grab onto the banister, but missed, almost falling to the ground. Looking at her watch, she realized that she would be late with this little detour.
Late? She couldn't be! It was only her first day, and her parents would kill her if she was late to class. Besides, she didn't want to get in trouble with her teachers, it was only her first day! All this was too much for little Raelee to handle, and she did the only thing that any self-respecting first year would do: cry.
First, her lower lip began to tremble, and within a few seconds, big, fat tears were rolling down her cheeks. "I don't wanna be late!" she sobbed before collapsing onto the staircase, her head in her arms, and her bag rolling down the stairs.
