There are many reasons for one might hang from a tree. Some may do it for the pleasure, it could be a test of endurance, or it cold be just for the hell of it. Now, some have quite good excuses, but this was not exactly so for Artemis.
It was quite a warm afternoon that saturday. The sun was at it's peak at one o'clock and it was definately t-shirt weather. Well, for normal people it was. For Artemis though, it was the usual heavy cloak, grey woolen scarf, black pants and her brother's combat boots. And she definatley looked strange hanging out of that tree in her outfit. Had she completley lost her mind?
Yes, and no. Artemis was feeling worse and worse as every day passed. She was cold and tired and she hoped that hanging from that tree would do something for her. If it killed her, great. If it gave her an idea even better. If it cured her cough completely, well that would just be prodigenous.

Sirius had left the castle without anyone. He had gone out a few days ago, on his won, and found no problem at all with it. Infact, he ended up meeting someone, but not in the way that might sound had he said it to someone. He had met a boy named Felix. He was gay and liked Sirius, however Sirius was straight.
He walked through the garden and past someone hanging from a tree. Sirius was behind them, however he could still tell who it was. It was Hogwarts' Librarian. He could tell from her clothes easily, but what was she doing hanging upside down? He didn't really know.
He simply gave his wand a little wave, which caused the tree branch to crack, but not fall completely. If it did, she could get hurt and he'd be in a lot of trouble. At least this way, she'd possibly stop. He then stood there, as if he was just curious as to why she was hanging there, as innocent looking as he could be.

Artemis heard and fealt the branch crack. She completely freaked out and her legs out of fear let go of the branch. She screamed a terrified, peircing scream that filled the empty sky. She had gotten really jumpy after her military experience, having screamed every time a bomb blew off, and she was scared by the slightest things. Next she knew Artemis was hurtling un-gracefully towards the ground in a flurry and tangle of classic black.
Artemis landed on her back and it hurt, but she was not that badly injured, having been close to the ground at the time. Lucky her, because she was becoming so fragile these days in so many ways. But that wasn't the worst part. The scream was quite the strain on her broken up throat and as soon as Artemis sat up she broke into a violent coughing fit, raising a hankercheif from her pocket to her mouth. Once again blood stained the cloth.
Artemis shifted slightly as she coughed and noticed a student standing and looking at her. She glared at him and once she got a chance she said in a harsh and rough voice "What are you looking at?"

Sirius hadn't exactly been expecting to see her go flying off of the branch and landing with a loud thump. He kind of felt bad too, since she creamed as she did so. He wasn't expecting that to happen, not at all.
Then she sat upright anad began coughing into a handkerchief, which was bloddstained. She then looked up at him, glaring, and asked what he was looking at. SHe was staff, but she seemed almost as scary as his parents. Um. Yeah, are you alright? Sirius asked, kind of ingnoring her question in the whole. [/blockquote]

Artemis had become so jumpy now a days. It was a bit strange but you could never be to careful. The tree incedent was a bit embarassing, but right now she could care less. She had a lot of other problems to worry about than how she looked in front of students. Still she could feel a slight blush grow on her cheeks from her stupidity. For god's sake the branch didn't even break.
She let the coughing stop before returning her attention to the boy. He didn't answer her question, instead he asked his own. Why should she answer his. That was a bit unfair wasn't it. So she did exactly what he did to her and answered his question with one of her own. "Are you causing trouble?"
The phrase was definately hard on her throat, and the sentence came out of a very scratchy voice, but she managed to ward off another coughing fit and she allowed a small smile to spread across her face. The stupid idea reminded her of something Anya used to do as a girl. The memories were a painful reminder of her brother, but it was still kind of cute.

Sirius saw her blush the slightest and look around. He did the same. Well, there were several students looking there way now. He really wanted to laugh now, but knew he couldn't.
She didn't answer his question, but rather asked her own. Okay, this was a little odd he thought for a staff member to do. But either way, she did. Maybe he should just answer her question, and she'd answer his.
Possibly... Sirius said. He wasn't going to be straightforward and tell her yes. But are you alright. Because you don't really seem it. Sirius asked her again. He had never meant for her to get hurt by his stupidity. [/blockquote]

Artemis ignored all other stares as she took out her wand to bleach her hanky. When it was cleaned she stuffed the cloth into a robe pocket, replacing the wand in the same place. A breeze made her shiver and she wrapped her cloak tighter around her. She was always so cold, she hated it.
At the possibly that came from the student whom she did not know by name Artemis frowned, a bit dissapointed. She didn't really care if he was causing trouble or not, she just wanted to see how long they could answer questions with questions. Apparently not very long. But the boy seemed very insistant on making sure she was ok. She decided it was fair to answer.
She was very blunt about it. "No" was the only thing she said before she started to cough again. She could barely get a word out without her throat giving. She took out the hanky again, but this time held her left hand to her chest so that it might stop the pain. "As a matter of fact" she continued to wheeze. "I'm not ok."

Sirius watched her remove her wand from inside her robes and bleach the hankerchief. She then restored both inside her cloak, and shivered pulling her cloak tighter around her. She was cold, while he was not. She definitely seemed sick.
She then frown when he said possibly. Why she had done so, he did not know. Was it possibly because he hadn't said a straight yes or no, like most teachers? It was the only thing he could figure.
She then answered his question, No. Alright, so what was wrong with her? She then started to cough again, and took out her hankerchief again, and said between wheezes that she was not okay, as a matter of fact. He didn't want to seem as if he was intruding on her if he asked, but said instead, Why don't you go to the hospital wing then? I'm sure they have something up there to help you. Artemis seemed to have a comeback for everything. It's not that she wanted to annoy this student or anything, but she was the same way with everybody. "I'm not injured." she said as softly loud as possible as to not start coughing again. "But I just fell out of a fucking tree and had myself a mini heart attack, I don't think the nurse has a cure for mental heart stoppers."
She coughed again, but not as hard this time, and not as long. Still, when she stopped she kept the cloth in her hands just in case. She seemed to be doing a lot of this, spitting out blood, lately. It was good to have things like that on you.
Even though Artemis was being a smart ass, the boy had raised a point. Not nessicarily a good one, but a point none the less. Artemis was tried so hard to convince herself that what ever was nagging at her for months was nothing more than a flu. She knew it must be something worse, but she didn't want to think that. Besides, she'd seen to much of hospitals in the military and she didn't plan on seeing a healer even if she was on the ground dying.

She wasn't injured, yeah, alright. But she was obviosuly sick, and she could probably find something to help her in the hospital wing. And she was quite the smartass too. But she just ignored this and just shook his head a bit at her.
She then begant o cough again. What was wrong with her? Well what illness or virus did she have. However it wasn't any of his business, so he couldn't possibly do anything about it. She had left her hankerchief out this time when she coughed, obviously so that when she started again, it was already out.
You know, the hospital wing isn't just for injuries. Sirius said, trying not to sound as if he was giving her just as much attitude as she ahd given him. [/blockquote]

Artemis leaned against the tree trying to relax a bit. She was still getting over the whole concept of tumbling out of a tree. It was a very scary thing. You should try it some time. She closed her eyes and was slightly annoyed when the boy continued to talk.
She opened her tired eyes just slightly to glare at him. Was he suggesting that she was ill? Ha ha ha ha ha. Artemis laughed in the face of sicknesses. Not really. She just didn't want to believe that her life was slowly slipping away. And if it was, well that was just to darn bad wasn't it? She had no life to live anyways. Or Anya didn't anyways.
"What are you talking about?" Asked Artemis, pretending that she didn't notice anything. That's all her life was anyways. Pretending. Why should she stop now?

Sirius watched her lean against the tree, as he just stood there, kind of getting annoyed himself, as he could see that he was just wastiing his time talking to her. And he could see that she too was getting annoyed with him talking.
Alright, well I can see that I'm just wasting my time standing here talking to you, and that what everyone says about you is true. Sirius said after she asked what he was talking about. He wasn't going to answer her, because, basically, it was pointless. She wouldn't listen anyway, and so what would be the point of continuing on.
So, he turned on his heels to walk away from her.
