Lily was sitting directly under a tree, reading a muggle book. It was a weekend, and they had no classes. They also didn't have a Hogsmeade weekend, which meant they were stuck on school grounds. She had been out here for a few hours, just reading. She had already read one book while she had been out here. She loved reading.Lily also loved spending time outside, well when the weather was nice she did anyway.
She had already finished all her homework. She had finished it long ago. she didn't want to stay in the Common Room though. She loved the Common room, yeah, but she decided that it was probably a good idea to get some fresh air. Lily turned the next page. She was so involved in the reading that she wouldn't notice, or hear anyone if they walked up. All her concentration was on the reading.

James touched down just outside the quidditch pitch and slid off his broom. Wiping a hand across his sweaty brow, he trudged over to the broomshed and locked up his Nimbus, grinning at its polished handle. As he turned back towards the castle, he wondered what Sirius had had to do that was so much more important than practising flying. Trying to figure out how what he would do with the rest of his afternoon, James let his feet lead him where they would over the grounds. Maybe he'd visit Hagrid, see if he needed help with anything.
Just as he came up with that plan he felt it slide out of his mind forever as he caught sight of a very distinctive redhead under a tree. She was alone too, an excellent chance for James to talk to her. It was true she'd been somewhat rough to him in the past, but he was sure she'd soften up someday. After all, he was James Potter, people loved him. James let this line of thought continue as he neared her, gaining confidence. As he drew closer he saw a book in her hands. Was she really reading? On a day like today? Mental note, James thought, don't insult her chosen activity.
When he drew close he tried to walk as quietly as possible, wanting to surprise her. When he was almost beside her, he suddenly tripped inexplicably and ended up on the ground in front of her. Taking care to talk in the most friendly voice he could, he grinned up at her, "Hi Evans. Good book? What's it about?"

Yoobin walked around Hogwarts for a while. She wasn't in her best mood, but she really didn't feel like studying. She had a book on her, a muggle book to be exact. The title read Night. It had been another owless day for Yoobin. It's been exactly 2 weeks and 3 days since her last letter from Jiyong, not to mention GD was still with them. Not only does she miss her owl but she's been looking forward for that letter. For as long as she's been at Hogwarts she's always kept in touch with her second family, the Kwon's.
Yoobin sauntered on the field and noticed Lily sitting under a tree, in her hands was a book. Yoobin wasn't close friends with Lily, but they were acquaintances.
"Hey, watcha reading?" Yoobin asked, seating herself next to Lily.

Lily was just about to change the page again, as she finished the previous when when she heard James' voice. She shot him a glare. "Is it really any of your business you arrogant toe rag?" Lily retorted "You really don't know WHEN to stop do you?" Lily said. Lily obviously disliked him, yet he was always asking her out, or being friendly. When would he get it through his god damn head that she couldn't stand him.
Lily then turned when she heard someone else's voice. She smiled "Oh It's gone with the wind" she said to Yoobin, now totally ignoring James .She really didn't wish to deal with him right now, only she knew he most likely wouldn't go away. He never did. He seemed to not be able to take no for an answer.

Despite the poison in Lily's voice, James' smile didn't falter. She'd come around, she had to. "Stop what?" he said, feigning innocence. Sometimes he really didn't get why he liked Lily. Here he was, making a serious (if not graceful) effort to start up a conversation, and she just shot him down from the get go. "Really Lily," he said, "Do you greet everyone that way? I hope not, the house elves might stop cleaning. You don't want to see my dorm without any house elves." That was it he thought, just keep talking, eventually she'll have something to say.
Suddenly James grimaced inwardly, his chance to talk to Lily had evaporated almost as quickly as it had appeared. Seriously, could that girl conjure friends with a thought? He sighed, hoping Lily wouldn't gain an excuse to brush him off.

Yoobin had seen James Potter walk around campus with his group of friends, pretending to be all-that. They think that they could get any girl they wanted because they were apparently 'good-looking'. She hated those type of people.
"Oh, that's a good book. Although it didn't catch my attention at first," Yoobin said. The last time she had read that book was a few years back. She felt as if the beginning was dry and so she didn't really enjoy reading it as much as other books.
Yoobin grinned slightly at the thought that someone didn't like James as much as she didn't. He was really an annoying prat. She rolled her eyes in semi-disgust at him. He probably just got done making out with some other girl or doing the only other thing he's obsessed with that wasn't girls, quidditch.
"So Lily, have you read this book before?" Yoobin asked, waving her book in the air and ignoring James.
((OOC: Kind of random but I didn't even see James' post before mine.))

She smirked when he asked if she greeted everyone that way. She turned to him the smirk still there "Nope only you" she replied."Because news flash I'll NEVER go out with you. I told you once I told you before I'd rather go out with the Giant Squid. You obviously can't tell when someone even likes you as a friend. You have an un-healthy Obsession Potter go get some help" she said with a glare. When Yoobin asked her if she read that book before she looked over at what book she was referring to. Lily shook her head "Nope can't say that I have" she replied. "Is it any good?" she asked. (okay so i know he didn't ask her out again but you saying the giant squid thing made me want her to say it again, so say she thinks he has some ulterior motive or something by coming and talk to her)

The other girl made no attempt to greet James, which didn't bother him at all. He was here to talk to Lily, not her. If she wanted to play Lily's game and pretend he wasn't here, good for her. Hopefully she'd be better at it than Lily was.
He kept smiling through Lily's small speech. Obviously, she was wise to his asking her out game. He hadn't even been planning on that this time, he thought. Yet. So there, mentally he stuck his tongue out at her. "I'm glad you're concerned for my health Evans, and you make a good point. Someone must be sick to like you." For his half, James was quite happy with the banter. Talking to an angry Lily Evans was better than not talking to Lily Evans at all.

Yoobin was currently just sitting in silence, watching Lily tell James off. She'd have to give her some props for doing that. For a while there Yoobin had always thought that she was the only one in the school who didn't like him.
"Oh, it's a really good book. Concentration camps," Yoobin said, "If you want you can borrow it."
Yoobin had read the book numerous times and yet it still could make her cry each and every time. It was by far her number one favorite book, with Twilight trailing after it.
She rolled her eyes at James who kept on trying to talk to Lily.
"She's not interested, take the hint," Yoobin snapped, annoyed by him.

James moved his eyes from Lily to the other girl as slowly and menacingly as he could. With what he thought was the most condescending voice he could manage, he said, "And I showed I was interested in talking to you?" What was that girls deal? What had he done to her? Who reads a book about concentration camps? As far as James were concerned, books were to let you escape from your own life into a more enjoyable one. Concentration camps, not so enjoyable. More annoyed by the other girls presence than ever, he turned back to Lily.

"Maybe after i finish this one" Lily said refering to the book in her hand. She loved reading, but only could read books one at a time. She laughed at what Yoobin said to James "He won't take a hint. He's been chasing after me for the past 5 years. If he was going to get a hint it would have happened by now. Just ignore him. He won't give up. No matter whats said he always just comes back." She said.

"Like a stray dog," James said, laughing on the inside over his private joke after Lily mentioned him always coming back. Sirius would've enjoyed that one. Where is Sirius? I could use the backup, James thought. Lily has her cronies here.
"You'd think it would flatter you Evans, really," James said, waggling his eyebrows, "Just think of all the other girls wishing after a piece of this." He flexed imaginary muscles at her. This was turning into a disaster. Lily alone he could handle, he'd frustrate her into having a conversation in no time. But with someone else there, she could just deflect anything he said.

Yoobin scoffed in disgust at the boy. Honestly, he was quite just ugh to her.
"I don't care if you didn't want to talk to me, but seriously 5 years? That's pretty pathetic don't ya think? What happened to Mr. high and mighty James Potter?"
Even though it really wasn't any of her business, she was currently stuck in between their conversation and just wanted him to leave them alone.
"Sure, I see you around all the time so if you ever want the book just come and talk to me," Yoobin said, closing the book in her hands and placing it on her lap.

"Yes very pathetic, considering I keep telling him no every time he asks me out. I guess the word no isn't in his vocabulary. He's too ignorant to understand its meaning" She said with a giggle. Lily ignored Jame's comment about the dog. She laughed "Yeah and I'm not one of em" She said when James said Just think of all the other girls wishing after a piece of this. She rolled her eyes at what he did next

James looked at the other girl as if she were slow. "He tripped," he said, acting for all the world as though she was wondering why he was on the ground. And yes, he still hadn't gotten up. He liked it down here though, he could see Lily's face, she couldn't just turn it away like she could if he were standing. He still didn't get that other girls problem. Maybe she just wanted Lily to like her. Fat chance, he thought privately, Lily's a way better judge of character than that.
James didn't look away from Lily when she said that. "I know Lily," he said, as sincerely as he could, "That's what makes you special." If trying to sound as smart and witty as he could didn't work, maybe that would.
