There's more to see than can ever be seen More to do than can ever be done There's far too much to take in here More to find than can ever be found Jace woke particularly early that morning. Well, early for a weekend that is. Most students enjoyed sleeping in as long as possible on the weekends however Jace was a different matter. He'd always been an early waker and on most days it didn't even seem possible for him to sleep past nine or ten in the morning at the very latest. Having strange sleeping patterns was something that he was used to. Sitting up in his bed he took a quick glance at his watch for the time. It was merely seven in the morning which meant that most, if not all, the other students would still be sleeping in their own dormitories. The one thing that he liked about waking up early was the peaceful quiet he would be met with for the few hours he had on his own. Getting to his feet Jace walked over to the window and pulled the curtain to see that the sun was just beginning to rise. With enough luck, if he moved fast enough he would be able to watch the sun rise from the Black Lake. The view of the sun always seemed to be best there. Quickly changing into a pair of his old ratty jeans, a light gray coloured sweater and his sneakers, Jace made his way to the doors and was soon out of the common room ascending the staircase out of the dungeons. A quick stride was all it took to make it out the front doors of Hogwarts castle to see that the sun had now begun to rise. There was still enough time to reach the lake. Perfect. A cool breeze gusted in from the west as Jace walked with his hands in his pockets towards the Lake. The grass crunched under his feet with every step he took, each of which were bringing him closer and closer to the Lake. Passing a hand threw his hair, he continued his now slow pace as he neared the Lake. It was a rather nice day, although it was slightly chilly outside, it was still nice. It was a good break from the heat that surrounded the country during the days of summer. This was that weather that Jace was the most fond of, that time of the year when it was neither hot nor cold, but simply warm or cool. This time of year also meant that he could wear the clothing he was most comfortable in, pants and sweaters. As per usual, Jace's walk to the Black Lake was a solitary and silent one. This was nothing out of the ordinary, most times he was a very solitary person if he could help it, although he didn't mind mingling with other students around the castle. Today however he chose not to mingle, today he would escape to his quiet place by the lake early. With luck, he'd be able to spend it entirely alone until breakfast was served in the Great Hall. Finding the tree that overlooked the Lake's waters, he lazily and quickly placed himself down on the grassy ground, thankful that the lawn was not particularly damp this afternoon. Leaning his back against the tree and placing one leg over the other, Jace looked up towards the now half-risen sun. Dawn and dusk had always been his favorite most relaxing times of the day. Especially when he found himself able to watch the coming and going of the sun in peace.[/blockquote]

Myseri hadn't slept that night. Her mind and legs were restless and the constant tossing and turning was killing her. Everyone in the dorms were peacefully sleeping. Company wasn't exactly something she wanted. She did, however, want the crisp air to silence her thoughts. After quickly changing into dark jeans and a black sweater, she slipped down the stairs into the commons and out the portrait hole.
Her body slid into autopilot as her mind fell into overdrive. Myseri hated how she always had a metaphorical cloud over her head. If it wasn't one thing, it was another. On the slight chance it wasn't either, it was the past. At times, she just wanted to give up trying to fix anything. Maybe if she let it all pile up, she would fade underneath it and it would cease to bother her. She doubted that greatly though. Rather than being underneath it, it would more than likely overwhelm her.
Without realizing where she was, she felt her body slide onto the ground. Reality seemed to come on like a lightswitch. Looking around with curiosity, she noticed she was at the lake under her willow. The morning was creeping in on her and for once, everything melted away. Watching the sunrise was always a thing of beauty, but watching it reflect off the lake was awe-inspiring. It wasn't until the sun had come into full view that she noticed she wasn't alone. Out of the corner of her eye, Myseri saw a boy. Jace Travers she believed. He was in her house and she had passed him in numerous corridors. Maybe she had been in a few classes with him. Turning back to the lake, she closed her eyes and leaned her head against the trunk of the willow.

There's more to see than can ever be seen More to do than can ever be done There's far too much to take in here More to find than can ever be found With his hands behind his head, Jace kept his eyes intently on the magnificent beauty of the rising sun as it shimmered its beams of light across the Black Lake. A rather small smirk curled on the edge of his lips as he gazed at the radience of the sun. It was so peaceful outdoors before the grounds were littered with students who wouldn't know how to keep quiet if their lives depended on it. Well, that was a bit of an over-exaggeration wasn't it? he thought to himself as he knew all to well from stories his father had told him that when a person's life was at risk, most people would do nearly anything. And his father really meant anything. No matter however, this was something that Jace was going to learn for himself once he graduated from Hogwarts. He had plans for himself once he left this school and was determined to make them a reality. No matter what the cost. As he let his mind wander, Jace had hardly noticed another student approach the lake. Venturing deep into his thoughts was a dangerous thing at the best of times for the simple reason that when he did Jace does not any particular notice to his surroundings. Except of course for the sun that he had been watching for who knows how long now. This was something that he would most definitely have to improve on. There would be no room for faults where he planned to go. When he finally took notice of the other person sitting not too far from him, he had to say that he was very surprised. If he recalled correctly the girl was a member of his year and house and went by the name of Myseri Rhayne. Although his deep mind may be seen as a hazard it also had its advantages. He had an incredible memory. Jace could remember even the smallest most insignificant detail to the largest, something Jace was only too proud of. Although he was slightly distraught that his morning alone had been interrupted by the presence of another, Jace was at least satisfied that it was someone from his own House. He never did get along too well with the other Houses for obvious reasons however this mattered little to him. Taking his blue eyes off the sun for a moment, Jace glanced towards his classmate. He exact class he had with her he couldn't say at the moment however he did recall having a few with her, hence the deduction of her year. He wasn't exactly sure how long he had debated for however he come to the decision that if they were going to be in each others presences they might as well say something to each other. After all, you didn't know the kind of enemies or allies you made while simply striking up a conversation. "Do you enjoy the sun rise?" he asked as he kept his head tilted in her direction. A rather simple question however through his years Jace had found it easiest to start of conversation when you simply started with small talk. Hopefully this would turn out to be an interesting one.[/blockquote]

The sun had risen high now and Myseri was once again consumed with numerous thoughts that just wouldn't die. If it wasn't for Jace, she may have become lost in them. It took her a moment to let her mind replay the question since she wasn't exactly paying attention. With a small smile, she turned her head and looked at him, "yes actually. It helps to erase everything. You can just look at it," she turned once more to take a last glance at the morning sun, "and everything melts away." As she turned back to him, her dark hair had fallen in her eyes. She quickly moved her gloved right hand and pushed it behind her ear. Her hair was a pesky thing. It could never stay where it was supposed to, no matter how much spray she put in it.
After shaking her head to ensure her hair had stopped shifting, she smiled again. "What brings you out here so early?" she asked tilting her head slightly. It was awfully early and if it wasn't for her restless body, she would be in the deepest of sleeps. Where that sleep would have taken her, she didn't know. She did know that she wouldn't be wandering though.
The sun rose more and caught her dark eyes. The orange was ignited in them instantly. Myseri hated how that happened. It added too much light to her ivory complexion. She wasn't vain. Many girls would have died to have her looks, without the tattoos of course. She didn't really care for them. It just made her stick out. She would have preferred to be plain. Realizing that she had interrupted Jace, she quickly apologized, "I hope I didn't bother you," she murmured as she tried to fix her left glove. Her palm was itching incredibly and it was really annoying her. Maybe she wouldn't be overwhelmed this morning. Maybe Jace would keep the memories at bay for a while.

There's more to see than can ever be seen More to do than can ever be done There's far too much to take in here More to find than can ever be found The suns golden rays had finally risen to their full potential as Jace awaited for a response. It seemed that he wasn't the only person who had been lost in their own thoughts that morning. No matter, Jace had always been a patient person. Especially when he found himself under a beautiful sun rise. There simply seemed to be something about this time of day that calmed him to his very core. "yes actually. It helps to erase everything. You can just look at it, and everything melts away." On this note Jace looked once more towards the sun. It did seem to erase everything, didn't it. Well, everything that could be found outside of his mind. Blocking out the sounds of external beings and sounds was simple enough to Jace. His thoughts however were a different matter. His thoughts were much more difficult to rid himself of than that. "What brings you out here so early?" Jace turned his head towards his housemate once more as she addressed him. "Is it so odd for someone to enjoy the sunrise enough to be awake this early?" he questioned sarcastically, a smirk curling on his lip. "Besides, it's not very much like me to stay in bed too long after the sun has risen." he continued in a slightly more serious tone. "I hope I didn't bother you," He had to say he was slightly surprised to hear an apology. Most people would assume that because he didn't ignore them or the fact that he was having a conversation with them that they hadn't disturbed him. It seemed that it was lucky of him to have been disturbed by Myseri rather then one of the many brainless students Hogwarts seemed to allow in. "No, you're not bothering me at all." he said as he looked once more towards the sun. "As long as you're pleasant company I don't see why it should bother me much to share a sunrise with someone else for once."[/blockquote]

Myseri smiled while she listened to Jace. She had kept an eye on the sunrise to keep everything at bay. She was really starting to hate how her mind wouldn't let her be. That was another matter though that she wasn't going to let consume her right now. "No, it's not odd for someone to wake to enjoy a sunrise," she began, "but it is odd for them to enjoy it on a weekend." A small smirk rejoined her lips. She had never seen a soul beside her own at the lake this early. The students weren't exactly 'early birds.'
She noticed a slight shift in his character after her apology, but he quickly recovered. Slytherins didn't apologize, yeah, but Myseri was a very old-fashioned person. If she believed she needed to apologize, she would. Whether it was directly to you or in passing is how she came to be a hard Slytherin. You never apologized to the face of someone less than you. It shows weakness, her father's voice rung in her head. A glimmer of happiness shone in her eyes, but quickly faded when her reality set in again.
"Usually the Hogwarts' sunrises are this lovely," she added as she looked back at Jace, "the mist over the lake tends to rise and block it at its best. That really puts a damper on your day when you've been up since three sitting here." Myseri never seemed to sleep anymore. Whether she was restless or hungry, it didn't matter. The comfort of sleep wouldn't hold her in its arms. Just one of the 'perks' of being who she was.

There's more to see than can ever be seen More to do than can ever be done There's far too much to take in here More to find than can ever be found "No, it's not odd for someone to wake to enjoy a sunrise, but it is odd for them to enjoy it on a weekend." Jace chuckled slightly to himself at this, he knew what she said to be very true. However natural it seemed to himself to wake during the early hours of the morning it would always be odd to the majority of his peers for a long time, at least in their teenage days anyways. "It seems I am the odd one out." he said keeping his eyes on the sun. "It also seems that you are an odd one yourself for being up this early. he continued as he turned his gaze towards her. "Usually the Hogwarts' sunrises aren't this lovely, the mist over the lake tends to rise and block it at its best. That really puts a damper on your day when you've been up since three sitting here." Jace raised one of his eyebrows in slight surprise at the statement. "Since three in the morning, eh? he said after whistling. "If I didn't know any better I'd say that you're lacking sleep and not simply an early waker like myself." he continued as he thought of what Myseri said. Most times his skills in deductive reasoning were quite exceptional and even he knew he could be arrogant with this skill. Pointing out what seemed obvious to himself was simply something that he would say just to say. Some people didn't take too kindly to it however. In case this wasn't something that Myseri didn't want to speak of Jace quickly changed the subject back to what she had originally said. "The sunrise is a beauty though isn't it." he noted as he looked back towards the sun. Although he did enjoy an argument as much as the next, during dusk and dawn he liked to stay calm and relax. "This time of year it seems to become more and more rare for it to be this way." he noted as he recalled the past few sunrises of the month.[/blockquote]

Myseri laughed slightly as she turned and caught Jace's gaze. "I'm a bit of both, just last night was really restless," she said with a smile, "so I snuck out and wandered. It's easier to sleep and calm yourself when you rest your mind." That much was true. Rough, sleepless nights were what she was used to. She wasn't going to tell him that she was out hunting earlier, though. That would be madness. Besides, she hadn't found it his business. It's not like she was hunting him.
Shifting her eyes back to the sunrise, she agreed. "It really is, "she said at almost a whisper. After gazing a few more moments, she rubbed her eyes. She wasn't sure if she was tired or she had burned her retinas. It was hard to part your eyes from the one thing keeping your sanity. For those brief moments in the morning, everything was gone. If only the sunrise could last all day. That was ridiculous, though. A girl could dream though, couldn't she?
"So," Myseri began, unsure of what to say. "What will you do with all your extra time since the school won't rise until midday?" she asked with a hint of curiosity. Myseri never really saw Jace around on weekends. He was probably one of the many all the girls surrounded and suffocated with love. The idea almost brought her to laugh, but it wouldn't shock her.
